London’s rising: We all know London is changing, architecturally and demographically, and the changes are linked, with property values leading to social cleansing as a by-product of gentrification.
The urban landscape is assuming ever more vertical form.
Here and there remain pockets where you can see this increasing verticality from a distance. While from the midst of towers, one is in a cavern hemmed in by cliff faces of reflective glass and steel.
Urban landscapes are fascinating and ever evolving.
Cities force us all together, cheek by jowl, enabling us to appraise, shift and evolve at faster rates than we might ordinarily. Economically, cities are powerhouses. Whether we like it or not, cities are here to stay for some time yet, and likely to get ever higher too.
